You probably remember my post about Turin from last year (here). We went for a quick unplanned trip, and we discovered a very agreeable city, but we couldn’t really do much as we went for less than 24h.
For our first trip as a family, I wanted to go somewhere nearby and I have been wanting to go back to Turin for a while, so this looked like a perfect occasion.But this time I had time to plan a little more, starting by asking a friend who goes there quite often to give me some advices.
As we were traveling with a baby for the first time our priorities were a little different than before, we knew we probably wouldn’t be able to be out all day non stop, and that we had to stop every three hours to feed him. And we also needed to be sure that the restaurants we went to were kids friendly, (This means that people will not be annoyed by a baby crying because he is hungry and that you can find a changing table in the restrooms)
Overall we had a really nice weekend strolling around the Turin, I really love the architecture and the romantic feeling this city has.
Probablemente recuerden mi artículo sobre Torno del año pasado (aquí). Un viaje no planeado y rápido, y descubrimos una ciudad muy agradable, sin embargo no pudimos hacer mucho porque estuvimos menos de 24h.
Para nuestro primer viaje como familia, quería ir algún lugar no muy lejos y llevaba tiempo queriendo regresar a Toruno, y esta era la ocasión perfecta. Pero esta vez tuve más tiempo para planearlo, y empecé por pedirle recomendaciones a una amiga que va frecuentemente.
Como era nuestro primer viaje con un bebé nuestras prioridades eran diferentes, sabiamos que no podriamos estar todo el dia afuera y que teníamos que parar cada tres horas para alimentarlo. También necesitábamos ira restaurantes familiares (esto significa que la gente no se va a molestar cuando el bebé llore porque tiene hambre y que hay mesa para cambiarlo en los baños).
En resumen tuvimos un fin de semana muy agradable paseando por Torino, me encanta la arquitectura y ese aire romántico que despeja.
SATURDAY / SABADO
We walked through Garibaldi Street, the longest pedestrian street in Europe, there you can window shop, and also see some amazing façades, and when needed you can sit in one of the many caffés and have a nice cappuccino.
We pretty much just walked around town, just doing breaks to feed the baby and to have lunch. Around seven we decide it was time to go back to the hotel and let the baby rest in a more calm environment.
Recorrimos la calle Garibaldi, que es la calle peatonal más larga de Europa, allí pueden vitrinear, admirar increíbles fachadas y cuando lo necesiten sentarse en alguno de los tantos cafés a tomar un capuccino.
Básicamente caminamos en la ciudad, haciendo pausas para darle de comer al bebé y para almorzar. Alrededor de las siete de la noche decidimos que era hora de regresar al hotel para que el bebé pudiera descansar en un ambiente más tranquilo.
SUNDAY/DOMINGO
Following my friends recommendation we went to visit the Venaria Reale less than 20 min outside of Turin, this was one of the residences of the Royal House of Savoy. Sadly the queue to enter the palaces was extremely long and we didn’t wanted to waste much time waiting, so we decided to skip the visit and just walk around the little town. There we discovered an amazing plaza, and have some nice time enjoying the first colours of the autumn.
Siguiendo las recomendaciones de mi amiga, fuimos a visitar la Venaria Reale a menos de 20 min fuera de Torino, esto era una de las residencias de la Familia Real de Savoya. Tristemente la fila para entrar al palacio era muy larga y no queríamos perder tiempo esperando, así que decidimos mejor visitar el pueblo. Allí descubrimos una plaza increible, y disfrutamos los primeros colores del otoño.

Like I said before, this time around being our first trip with the baby we wanted to go to kids friendly restaurants but also good restaurants.
Again following my friend recommendations we went to two really places that were not only perfect for families but also the food was delicious.
Como dije anteriormente, siendo este nuestro primer viaje con el bebé queríamos ir a lugares kids friendly pero que también fueran buenos.
Otra vez siguiendo las recomendaciones de mi amiga, fuimos a dos restaurantes que no solo eran familiares pero que también la comida era deliciosa.
Nothing to say about this really good pizzas, fresh ingredients and nice staff, and special mention to my ice cream made with buffalo milk, topped with chocolate and figs.
Nada que decir para estas pizzas deliciosas, con ingredientes frescos y el servicio agradable, y mención especial para el helado hecho con leche de búfala, con topping de chocolate e higos.
In a more fancy environment, but still very agreable, Eataly has a very nice menu but we decided to go for pasta, you know, because we are in Italy 😉
Arthur had a dish made with classical pasta, and I had one made with wheat pasta, both were excellent!
En un ambiente un poco mas “fancy”, pero agradable, Eataly tiene un menu bastante completo pero nos terminamos decidiendo por pasta, porque ya sabe, estamos en Italia 😉
Arthur pidió un plato con pasta clásica y yo uno con pasta integral, los dos estaba excelentes!
This is a place we discovered on our first visit to Torino, they have the best hot chocolate we ever had and it is also a bookshop, what else could we ask for!
Este lugar lo descubrimos durante nuestra primera visita a Torino, tienen el mejor chocolate caliente que he tomado y también es una librería, que mas podemos pedir!
I hope this small guide will help you in case you are planning a short trip to Torino, if you are going to be longer, make sure to visit the Egyptian museum as well as the Venaria Reale, because I am sure its worth it.
